We are so excited to welcome Genet Zewdrie and her volunteer spirit to our Club!
In 2006, Genet immigrated to Canada from Ethiopia with her two beautiful daughters. They have since learned to love Canada and are proud to call Kitchener-Waterloo home.
As an accountant, Genet worked in banking in Addis Ababa and, after coming to Canada, she volunteered as a bookkeeper and as a cashier in the gift shop at Sunnyside Long-Term Care Home in Kitchener. More recently, she has been working for the WCDSS (Waterloo Catholic District School Board).
Genet likes all types of music (and has a special place in her heart for Justin Bieber!). As well, she enjoys sports, travelling the world, driving, and taking courses in Nutrition at Conestoga College.
Most importantly, however, Genet loves volunteering and says that she is thrilled to be part of a dynamic group of women who are independent, intelligent and share her love of giving back. As such, she is one of the valued team members who regularly volunteer at the May Court Shop.
