The May Court Club of Canada

From its earliest beginnings in 1898 to the present day, the goal of The May Court Clubs of Canada has been to raise funds to serve and support women and children in need.

May Court is the oldest service club in Canada, founded by Lady Isabel Aberdeen, the wife of Canada’s Governor General at the time. Lady Aberdeen had strong ideas about the role of women in society. She put her ideas into action and founded the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) and the Council of Women. To support these endeavours, she established The May Court Club of Canada.

Over the past century, May Court Clubs have grown to more than 1,500 members who volunteer in nine Ontario cities. All are driven by the same spirit and passion for making a difference in the communities in which they serve.
