The May Court Club Projects

The May Court Club of Kitchener-Waterloo is a not-for-profit registered charity and service group around 120 women strong. All our members are caring, kind and passionate volunteers who have a deep desire to help those in need in Waterloo Region. We provide financial, emotional, and educational support especially to women, children and families. We have been fundraising with this purpose in mind for more than 50 years, and are proud to have raised over $2.5 million dollars, all of which has been used to provide aid to our local community.

It’s amazing, yet sad, the number of people in our Region whose basic needs are not being met. The May Court Club has provided Emergency Food Boxes available to all local schools upon request. Since September we have delivered over 175 boxes of non-perishable food items. We are committed to feeding hungry tummies so that children can concentrate on learning. For a nominal fee, our Puppet Troupe performs at local schools presenting a variety of enjoyable and educational plays. All the money they raise is given to the Emergency Food Boxes to help with their costs.

Many women in our community cannot venture out on their own for a variety of reasons so the club runs an outreach program to provide socialization opportunities, crafts, and life skills for the benefit of these women. They develop long-lasting relationships with the volunteers and other ladies who attend.

Twice a year we have several organizations submit requests for financial assistance. Through the hard work of our volunteers who work in The May Court Shop, and those who work on important fundraisers such as Christmas Dreams, Meadow Acres Coupon Sales, and our new upcoming Spring Gala we can provide support to Child Witness Centre, Sports for Special Athletes, and Big Brothers & Big Sisters to name a few.

We sincerely thank all our sponsors and our community for supporting Christmas Dreams 33 and helping us to make a difference in the lives of others.
